What are Clean Fuel Standard Programs?
Clean fuel standards are market-based incentive programs designed to reduce the carbon intensity (CI) of the transportation fuel pool. The standard establishes a CI target that gets more stringent each year, allowing low-carbon fuels to earn credits based on their CI compared to the annual target. These programs enable companies actively working to lower their transportation-related emissions to generate value from those activities.
