On the latest episode of The Biochar Show, 3Degrees’ Wyatt Catron, Project Development Manager, discusses carbon markets, project design, and climate action with Zack Farr of Biotech Action Research and host John Webster. In this episode, the trio explores how Florida’s citrus crisis is becoming a proving ground for place-based carbon removals.
Over the course of a far-reaching and insightful discussion, the trio discussed topics of key relevance to the growing biochar sector, including common challenges faced during the construction of a new biochar project, the relationship between projects and markets, and the role of biochar as a durable removal in a long-term decarbonization strategy.
“It’s really cool to sit in the space between the project and the potential buyers to bring both parties to the table and make it a partnership, make it a success, make the carbon markets a long-term play for both the claims that companies want to make about how they’re making positive impact and making positive impact on the ground and making it sustainable,” said Wyatt Catron, Project Development Manager at 3Degrees. “You can’t get more additional and high-impact than that in the carbon market.”
