Google, Levi Strauss, Meta, Mars, and Starbucks on a scope 3 panel

3Degrees was proud to be out in full force at last week’s New York Climate Week, where Manhattan became the stage for corporate leaders, technology innovators, regulatory experts, and practitioners all mobilizing around one urgent theme: climate action.

Our team joined seven sessions across the city, contributing to conversations on topics ranging from financing community-impact renewable projects to accelerating carbon project development and navigating emerging standards for supply chain decarbonization.

A central focus for 3Degrees—and for many at the event—was the complex challenge of decarbonizing global supply chains, and a highlight of our week was hosting a panel on this topic featuring climate leaders from Google, Levi Strauss & Co., Mars, Meta, and Starbucks. The panelists shared candid perspectives on leveraging market-based mechanisms to drive credible, immediate scope 3 reductions, even as guidance from standards bodies continues to evolve. The discussion offered both inspiration and practical strategies for organizations seeking to take meaningful action today.

Building on this discussion, 3Degrees’ Senior Director of Climate Strategy, Elizabeth Geller, sat down with Tom Idle, host of the Scope 3 Podcast, to unpack the pressing issues of traceability, data challenges, and the role of market-based tools in accelerating supply chain decarbonization. Their conversation also highlighted success stories from companies already making measurable progress.

You can listen to their full conversation and explore these insights on The Scope 3 Podcast.
