Nate Downs

Nate Downs serves as vice president for finance at 3Degrees and oversees the company’s finance and accounting (FP&A) teams. 

Nate has held numerous roles since joining the company over a decade ago, most recently as Global Head of FP&A. In this position, he led due diligence for equity and debt processes including closing a substantive credit facility with Citibank. Over his 3Degrees tenure, Nate has supported the company through a period of rapid acceleration from $20M to $1B in revenues, the 2017 merger with Origin Climate, the 2025 spinoff of the utility partnerships division (now Onward), and multiple phases of global expansion in Europe and Asia. Previously, he held roles in both public and private accounting, as well as consulting where he supported complex audits, and process and system implementations.

Nate lives in Novato with his family and enjoys spending time with them, golfing, and experiencing the outdoors (especially the mountains) any chance he can get. He’s a firm believer in leaving nature better than you found it, and feels deeply connected to 3Degrees’ mission and values.
