Scott Martin

Scott Martin serves as 3Degrees’ vice president of the global commercial business where he leads a talented team of business development and consulting experts, supports the company’s launch into new international markets, and leads the overall commercial business. 

In 1992, Scott was stationed in Oahu having just returned from the burning oil fields of Kuwait and Iraq with the Marine Corps. While surfing one afternoon, he had a moment of reflection that would end up directing his life’s work: he needed to dedicate his career to protecting our natural resources and reducing society’s dependence on fossil fuels.

For over two decades, Scott has worked exclusively for organizations that are focused on fighting climate change. Prior to joining 3Degrees, he spent 15 years with Green Mountain Energy Company, where he was a founding member of the company’s Commercial and Industrial business, and helped launch the Texas and New York markets, as well as the commercial solutions business. Scott also spent time working for a leading energy management software and demand response company, and leading his own consulting firm before joining 3Degrees in 2016. Since taking the helm of the commercial business at 3Degrees, Scott has tripled the size of the organization, supported the company’s international launch, and has helped organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies develop and implement plans to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Scott resides in Northern California and when he is not traveling or spending time with his family and Wheaten Terrier, he loves paddle boarding, skiing, traveling and enjoying other outdoor sports.
