8th win recognizes Leadership in Community Solar, Renewable Energy Procurement

3Degrees announced today that it has received a 2015 Green Power Leadership Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).  This award recognizes the country’s leading green power suppliers for their commitment to advancing the nation’s voluntary green power market.

“We are proud to receive this prestigious award for the eighth time,” said Steve McDougal, 3Degrees CEO. “Our staff is committed to connecting people with cleaner energy on a massive scale, and it is an honor to be recognized for this work.”

In the past year, 3Degrees has focused on expanding renewable energy in the U.S. through three key initiatives:

  • Community Solar: 3Degrees is the industry leader on implementing voluntary community solar programs and is currently working with two major IOUs to launch their programs
  • Power Purchase Agreements: With more companies looking for an ownership stake in their renewable energy purchases, we are advising Fortune 500 clients on opportunities around renewable energy procurement
  • New projects: Over the past several years, 3Degrees has been instrumental in bringing new renewable energy projects online, working with suppliers and clients to create projects that are cost-effective and meet client needs

“EPA is pleased to recognize 3Degrees with a Green Power Supplier of the Year Award for its leadership in expanding the nation’s renewable energy industry,” said EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy. “Through its development of new renewable energy capacity, 3Degrees is helping to address climate change and put our country on a path to a future powered by renewable resources.”

EPA presented 3Degrees with the Green Power Supplier of the Year award at the 2015 Renewable Energy Markets Conference on October 19, 2015.
